Microlight short field landing

Posted by: Darren | Comments (5)

Bouncing it on after a low approach into my 600′ strip in Pai, Thailand. It’s a one-way strip and late go -arounds are not an option. I should have held descent power all thru the flare. Trike is locally made using an Aeros Stream wing, Werner 80hp 2 cylinder motor and Aerolux prop.

For more, click here: www.avweb.com The WoopyFly, a sort of paraglider/trike/ultralight hybrid shown on the world stage at AERO Friedrichshafen this April 2010 in Germany, has a wing that folds for storage like a paraglider — because it’s inflatable. Currently, it appears the wing itself is only available from distributors in Switzerland, Russia, and Japan. Those wishing to buy the trike (plus wing) can expect a complete kit cost to run about 13780 Swiss Francs, which currently is about US400 — plus the legal disclaimer that releases the manufacturer of liability. Video narration by Glenn Pew for AVweb.com.

Yankee Ultralight Flyers Fly-In 08

Posted by: Darren | Comments (3)

This is a short video collaboration of pictures and videos taken during the Yankee Ultralight Flyers 2008 Fly-in in Greenland New Hampshire. This annual event is held every year thanks to the hard work of the Yankee Ultralight Flyers club and the benevolence of Ted Sanderson who generously allows his private airport to be used for the enjoyment and education of all. Some of these airplanes are hand built by the pilots themselves, they fly and maintain them. The event has seminars, flights and information all available to the public. July 10 – 13th is open to the public, there will be flights avail on a first come first serve basis weather permitting. Young Eagles flights will also be available. Come join us for a weekend of flying and fun!!!!!!
