personaly if you are looking to build an ultralight of this style i would go with the Legal Eagle. the plans are much more detailed and seem to be well put together. i have heard of many people flying these and could count on one hand how many people i have heard of who actually have the guts to fly their affordaplane just a couple feet off the ground down the runway. plus i garuntee that the designer will contact you back. if i where you i would spend the extra money and build a Legal Eagle

( 1 of 2)the cost of this aircraft is around $3500 for building materials not including the motor or instruments. the cruise speed and hp will vary depending on what engine you decide to use. i have ordered the plans and looked them over and in my opinion i would not build it. the wing ribs are made from blue core insulation foam with ply on each side. things are cut drasticly to make it cheaper. also support from the builder is very rare. i have only heard of him replying to 2 people.

How many planes have you build? Are you familiar with the streak Shadow designed by David Cook? The ribs for that model are also made out of foam and the Streak Shadow is an outstanding microlight, up to date there is still no microlight like it. It has established records that are very impressive for a microlight. This affordaplane is return back to the basics of homebuilding, which is a good thing. The current so call kit are not affordable to the common joe. In the US they started with the sport light classification with the assumption that it was going to bring more people into aviation an d it has done the opposite, not every can afford 100,000 dollars/euros for a plane. So let the barnstorming live on! the spirit of aviation, the freedom of flying has its roots in barnstorming.
