I was the passenger at that time, but since got my private Pilots License and now fly my-self, you go steady Kev, Steve.
Been there, Done that. Lost engine at 550 ft agl on climbout. Turned base thinking that I could directly land midfield but, there were parachuters coming down so, I had to FLY the trike. Me?..I landed in a soybean field. It was like landing on a carrier deck. Those beans stopped me in 25 feet without tipping me over. No damage to myself or the Trike. Problem was a clogged fuel filter from some sludge in he fuel tank. Live and Learn…

Nice one,but did you really think it wouldn,t glide? After all it is an over grown Hang Glider. Now that you know you and it can do it then maybe Prectice practice pratice. Fly safe Scott Newman HG ultralight pilot.

Hello Scott, thank you for your comment on Microlighting, yes they do glide as you say, but at the time what goes through your mind is for how long, can I make the air field, shall I make that turn?? But as you see we made all the right decisions and got to the air field. I see you do Hang Gliding, I have done a bit my-self really miss it, go steady Scott, bye for now Steve.

lost engine downwind popham p1 in mates trike did not make airfield £120 damage front strut and seat frame used fence as arrester wire.

nicely done, i had one at about 400ft on takeoff along with a prop break on my checkride before my solo last year in a flash 2 alpha
