You should trash the spounge and get a plastic mesh potato bag. Will take anything off your pot. And it doesn’t even register on the scale. AND you could use the same one for years…
1. i just carry a 1.5 liter aquafina bottle in the side pocket usually for water on the trail, its easy to get in and out of the pocket. I also carry a 2 liter Platypus to get water in camp, but i dont use it while on the trail unless i need to transport water.
2. I actually go a bit cheaper. I ususally cook pasta sides, chicken sides, alfredo sides, etc. You can get them at your local walmart. they’re 89c a pop!! and sometimes (most of the time) better than mountain house.
One of the most sensible gear lists I’ve seen (and I’ve seen many). Not once did I ask “why” during the course of your 2 part video and that’s only happened once when watching similar vids. If you mentioned it I missed it; do you carry a hydration bladder? Also, do go with Mountain House or do you get a little fancier?
