Im a warm sleeper, therefore it adds a good 10* onto my sleep system. Ive heard other reviews of it only giving up to 5* of warmth. Also my winter base weight (5*-25*) is 9 lbs. I don't use water treatment either, never got sick thankfully, but witnessed many hikers who did, most from cross contamination from a filter, or swimming in a pond... fantastic 3 season system you have going, I like the down hat, and I’ll definitely look into getting one of those.
