I clicked on the ad and there was a short film about a new kid at school. It was neat.

Hey
Tinny, I always wondered about those pop up ads. I never would of thought that they actually played a role in the persons video I was watching. Sure, I’ll click away.

Hey Tn3045 you’re an ass. If you don’t like it here then take a hike. It sounds like you’re having a tough Christmas so don’t take it out on tinny.

Thanks for pointing out that Jetboil info. Good to know. Kinda makes me rethink my stoves.

Hamm336, Wow! You are way off on that remark. You seem a little tense though.

hamm, get away from your keyboard, go outside, breath deeply, think about what you just wrote. theres no crime trying to make a living and guess what, just because someone asked you politely to do something doesnt mean you have to. free choice, incredible concept.
and for some reason i still cant see the adverts, i assume its a browser problem

Somebody need a nap

i do not conform to the advertisement. You have turning into a demanding advertiser that looks for money by saying if you do not get more money you won’t make more videos. This site is free and you post your videos so others see the produce that you sell . By saying you can not make videos if we do not conform to the will of corperate controlled advertisement is just not right. If the only way for you to keep making videos is that, then good luck and goodby. corperate sellout.

Very interesting. I’d been considering playing around with heat sinks to increase efficiency – but hadn’t gotten around to it – partially because the boil times are pretty decent for the coke can stoves. Thanks for the great analysis!

could be because i am in the uk, but i dont see any ads? be glad to click

Hey Tinney! What if you make the base of the pot CONCAVE, you could move the flame closer to the pot and would also act as a wind shield, while increasing the surface area touching the water in the container.
Maybe you’ve already tried, IDK, I’m not a stove/pot builder – so FWIW there’s my idea.

Really enjoy the videos. Clicking away…..

When doing test I have no priorities. Only after finding a new design do I decide which direction I want to go with it. But weight and simplicity are pretty high on my list.
January 26th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
What are your priorities and in which order do you place them?
(1) Low weight, (2) Compact, (3) Efficient (fast), (4) Cheap (replaceable).
Tinny, Are you moving in the wrong direction?
January 26th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
You may want to test to see how long it takes the water in the various pots to return to the starting temperature. You may find that the ones with more mass will hold the heat longer than the others. The exception should be the ones with the fins on the bottom since they will allow the heat to wick away faster.
U could check to see how long it takes for the water to return to a drinkable cup of coffee/Tea without scorching the lips.

I have played with the kelly design with little luck

As for the stove thing I have been thinking about the boiler idea for a few months but don’t know how to do it efficiantly. 1 idea I have that may or may not work is to use something similar to the pop pop boat, 1 pipe draws water in and the other into a cup, yet to try though

Tinny I use an iPod touch to watch vids which doesn’t show the adds but will make more of an effort to use the pc and support you.
January 26th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
I just clicked it for you Tinny. I didn’t know you made a few bucks from the adds. I’ll continue to do the same with future videos. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas.

At the very least it may be something that some are interested in especially if it could double as a wind screen, and maybe even make an easier way to cook with wood because you wouldn’t need a stove and the soot would be on the inside of the device. Just a thought. Thanks for the vids.

Tinny,
Don’t worry about the few knuckleheads that get on here and say stupid stuff. Just keep doin what you are doing bro. Anyway, I was wondering what you would think about designing or experimenting with an ultralight kelly kettle/storm kettle. I am sure it won’t be lighter than the keg, but it might trigger another idea.

No–my orders come from my loyal customer base who surf my site looking for new products daily. The videos are just fun eye candy but don’t sell much product. For example –this video did not advertise anything I sell, and was just a report on pot design. Fun –yes—profitable –no–
