ByHi everyone, here is my backpacking gear I use. It’s not completely ultralight but it’s still under 17lbs. What do you use? And more importantly, why? Thanks for checking it out!!

Ultralight backpacking is great but don’t sacrifice the comfort specially in backpack (paddings) it will take toll on your body if you’ll go a thru hiking like AT.

I’m an ultra-lightweight backpacker and survivalist with an10 lb base pack. I don’t count any of the gear I “wear”, including a survival tin, hat, scarf, chapstick, vaseline in a tube, tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, tissues, multi-tool and knives. I use a large lumbar pack that has a top pouch if needed. I carry items that either directly support survival (shelter, fire, water, food) and have dual-use. I use layers and multiple purpose to justify anything I carry.
