Sorry, we must postpone the Icicle to the 31st Jan. This weekend's forecast is for it to be too wet, warm and windy. No point trying to struggle in the wrong conditions, we need patience....
If the 31st is not suitable, next date will be the 14th Feb (7th Feb i am in the USA with work and there is a clash with another event)

Great to see so many signed up - no chickening out now....

In its 4th year, Icicle 2009 will be at Halfpennygreen, Wolverhampton. 3 tarmac and 1 grass runway, very friendly, pub in easy walking distance (evening curry to keep you warm), or something else. Breakfast also available from the on site cafe. Clubhouse for warmth
The purpose of the event is to sort the hardy out from the others, and say you have done it. last year 15 a/c braved the -5C temps. To see a video of 2007 and 2008 event, go to www.youtube.com and type in icicle meet.

Basis is, flyin to Halfpennygreen during the saturday, eat, drink and camp by the a/c. Fly back to where you came from on the sunday.
Landing fee is only £5 and camping is FREE. Food, bar etc all available.

Flyin in even if you are too soft to camp, just to see how hard we are, its still only £5.
Prizes for various entrants (furthest flown, nicest a/c, longest beard, arrival with no tent etc). Everyone gets a sticker "Icicle 2009, I was there"
"FLYER" HAS GENEROUSLY OFFERED A FREE YEARS SUBSCRIPTION (with all those lovely free landings) AS A PRIZE IN THE EASY QUIZ FOR CAMPERS...
Event open to all aircraft of the BMAA and LAA (old PFA)
In the event of unsuitable weather (too warm, wet, windy etc) the Icicle 2009 meet will roll on to subsequent weekends, until a nice crisp, cold weekend arrives !!
